There is nothing to add to this gentleman's comprehensive and articulate testimony. I traveled from Virginia to see Dr. G for a hypospadias related stricture this passed December 2023 and am so happy with the results. Ditto and Amen! Dr. Gelman is the Michelangelo of surgeons. I had hypospadias repairs done as a child that in short, lasted until 2023. Dr. G restored my urethra in December 2023 and like this testimonial, I had no pain. During my initial phone consultation, Dr. G told me he wasn't going to hurt me and I was sold. He knew without me having to tell him that I endured great pain physically and emotionally. He is a blessing and gifted by God in his hands and heart. I’m 19 years old and I accidentally shot myself in the penis and I’ve gone through many surgeries already and the whole middle part of my urethra is done for, and they’re going to have to recreate the middle part and take skin from my left cheek and right cheek in my mouth and from what I gathered I think I have to heal for another 6 months with my penis split open after being down since december of last year…

Step one get a female reconstructive surgeon, unless you like pain. ask if they do mitomycen injections. I’ve had over 40 treatments for strictures. My doc told me it might take two treatments to be 100%, it’s been a year and only had less then 50% regrowth. If any uro says they want to do an in office dilation with a local insist on sedation, if they refuse smile and tell them they are fired.

I had a dilation a month or so again and I hope it holds the stricture. I hope if I need another one that I can try Optilume. My doctor said sometimes the dilation works. Yes I had retention once and it was hellish. That was after 7 IMRT sessions and the catheter led to a paraphimosis which is another level of hell. I had SBRT over a year ago but continue to have hematuria with clots. I have had retention in the past and it hurts like heck. I see the specialist next week. During the cysto the doctor saw a large stricture in the bulbar area. I am so scared of getting retention.

Good luck. I was about to go to the ER when a spasm happened and clots came out along with a lot of urine. A cysto revealed a stricture and Dr was unable to view the bladder so I need another "hard" cysto and surgery on the stricture

As a man that is diagnosed with hypospedias. and have the so called '' penile opening midsaft''' what i would prefer to as a mid version of the condition. i would say that it is a bummer that i cant take a leak standing up. but one thing i can tell you is that we are the chosen ones. One in every 200\300 newborns have this condition. We are rare, special and blessed. keep your head up kings.

I’m sorry you went such hell. I had BPH in my late 60’s I had the Holep procedure with a Medium lobe. Probably in getting the Medium lobe out they might have cut the Bladder neck or the stricture was already there. Not sure! It is a 2cc stricture but I still can’t empty my bladder! So back in to fix the bladder neck Constriction. I hear it is a 10 minute job to fix , I will probably have to deal with a catheter for a couple of days then it will come out. From what I seen on UA-cam I might have to self catherise once a night for a week the slow stop that. I will know for sure after I talk with the doctor. I hope you continue to improve! Thanks for your UA-cam mine will be nothing compared to yours.

Did you have any complications after the surgery? Any ED issues, or penis sensitivity? I read those issues can occur in the small number of patients.

Good to know there are more men like me. I have hypospadias to, had surgery when i was 4 or 5, doctors said it would all be alright when i was older. Not..... 😔 I am unfertile, and it is micro. I am now 38 and struggling with it big time, i have had dated girls most of them just laughed at me. And now i am really struggling with finding a girl/women, afraid how they react. 😭

Absolutely....they didnt treat your problem initially properly....a small stricture they made it a mess and made it big...anyways am happy for you....i recently got the surgery done and my doctor is very sensible and fortunate to meet him!!

These evil doctors who keep you doing dilations are basically doing factory work to make money. They don’t offer you a Urethroplasty because 1. They can’t do it and 2. They’ll make money money doing repeat ineffective dilations. And that’s why you’ve suffered. They should all be thrown in prison for purposely prolonging your misery and knowingly making your condition worse.
